Welcome back, and we are wrapping up March with the final resort on the first half of the countdown! I was expecting to be finished with the countdown by now, but instead we are only halfway there. So as we go into April look forward to the Top 10! This brings us to the #11 resort of the countdown, the lush tropical Rosewood Mayakoba. Mayakoba is a small region of the Riviera Maya, that is very exclusive and surrounded by a lagoon of mangroves. There are but only a few resorts within Mayakoba, and they are all luxury resorts. This is where the amazing Rosewood Mayakoba is found.

Rosewood Mayakoba is made up of two areas the bulk of the resort is nestled back into the mangroves a short golf cart drive off the beachfront. This part of the resort you are shuttled around by resort boats or you can walk the pathways that weave through the resorts tropical grounds. This is where most of the private suites, villas and residences are found. Take note this is an all suite or higher property. Up in front of all the mangroves. You'll find the beachfront section of the Rosewood Mayakoba. With its beautiful beachfront pools and suites.
Surrounded by the emerald embrace of the jungle and caressed by warm Caribbean breezes, it is a resort of rare luxury is in the making. Rosewood Mayakoba is imbued with the unique spirit of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. A journey to this serene world, immersed in the green perfume of the jungle, captivates the soul with unimaginable natural beauty and pure, simple refinement. Situated along a mile-long arc of white sand on the Riviera Maya, Rosewood Mayakoba is the heart of a 620-acre luxury resort enclave located 40 minutes south of Cancún and north of the charming seaside village of Playa del Carmen.
Built along a network of lagoons and the Caribbean Sea, the resort's 129 suites and 11 villas are strikingly modern in design. Upon arrival, guests are transported by luxury boats or golf cart to their own personal sanctuary. All of the suites feature crisp, open spaces, contemporary furnishings and wooden lattices and glass hiding doors for natural airiness. Accommodations are complemented with such details as spacious bathrooms, plunge pools and private boat docks.
The suites are extremely spacious and incredibly designed. The smallest of these is the entry level Lagoon Studio Suite at approx 858 sq feet with Lagoon boat access. So even your entry level rooms will give you this option. From there you have Overwater Lagoon Deluxe Suites and Lagoon Deluxe Suites, and then Beachside Lagoon View Suite. Now the Beachside Lagoon view suite moves you up the beach section of the resort, but you suite is on the backside facing the mangroves. On the oceanside you have a 1 or 2 bedroom oceanview suites. The 1 bedroom is a rooftop suite, and the 2 bedroom is a two level townhouse with rooftop. Both stunning options. Lastly from suites perfect for couples, the creme de la creme the Beachfront Studio Suites. While these are the smallest suites offered at the Rosewood Mayakoba (slightly smaller than the Lagoon suites, they will give you access to walk right out of your suite and onto the beach, and they all have a nice private plunge pool and beachfront patio.
The Villas back in the Lagoon called Cenote Villas, and come in either one, two or three bedroom options. The three bedroom villas can actually sleep up to 8 guests, and the two bedroom can sleep up to 6 guests. They are all absolutely stunning, two story townhome like, and all have private pools and boat access. There is also a presidental lagoon suite that can sleep up to 8, and back on the beach there is a presidental beachfront suite that is mind blowning and can sleep up to 10. As well the private two story beachfront Founders Villa that can sleep up to 12.
The beach in front of the Rosewood Mayakoba is beautiful. There is a beachfront resort pool as well as two dining venues, however one of them the Aqui Me Quedo is an Adults Only beach club venue from the resort. Rosewood prides itself of esquisite creative and traditional gourmet cuisine at all its dining venues.
The elegant restaurant Casa del Lago serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as two private dining options (La Cava Wine Room and Avicenia). Children ages 4 and under are complimentary. Punta Bonita offers guests Mexican cuisine in a casual atmosphere with a beachfront view. Agave Azul celebrates the Asian cuisines from the northern region of Mexico. Aquí Me Qudo’s La Cantina serves the best of Mexican street foods and drinks with freshly-made, Caribbean coastal-inspired fare out of a retro-fitted food truck at the adult’s only seaside oasis. La Fondita draws inspiration from Mexico City’s neighborhood spots, serving favorites like tostadas, tacos and aqua frescas. Pan Dulce, highlights the sweet side of Mexican cuisine, specializing in pastries, cookies, breads and custom desserts. Both La Fondita and Pan Dulce are located in El Pueblito. The resort also features bar options as Casa del Lago Bar, Punta Bonita, Aquí Me Quedo and La Fondita. Then for something a little different & fun is there garden setting family communal seating at La Ceiba Garden & Kitchen, where you'll dine at long tables that can accommodate 18, while the food is prepared over open flame.
