Rome: "Your Ticket Please...."

Rome adds ticket requirement to Trevi & Pantheon

· Travel News,Italy

Ciao Readers,

Just a quick update to let everyone traveling to Rome in 2026 know, Rome will start requiring entry tickets to the Trevi Fountain. Yes, thats right the Trevi which is in a public piazza, will be gated off next year. With an entry booth at all through points. Visitors will require a ticket to visit the Trevi Fountain. This will be in effect during daylight only hours, and once twilight comes you can visit without tickets. In a effort to get a control of overcrowding at the fountain, they will put in place controlled entry. I've heard the hours are 9am-9pm, 7 days a week, but don't bind me to those hours. It's understood that residents of Rome will not require a ticket.

In addition we should make clients aware, earlier this year Rome did the same thing with the Pantheon, and entry to the Pantheon in 2026 will remain by entry ticket only. You used to be able to walk right into the Pantheon see its interior and walk out. No longer the case, now you must queue in line to enter the Pantheon, and you'll need a ticket to enter inside. Yet again in effort to control crowding inside.
