Derek,
Just wanted to thank you for everything. The trip was fantastic! The hotels were excellent with one exception. The hotel in Milan was a great location but the room was dated and the queen bed consisted of the uncomfortable singles pushed together.
The people at the hotel in Paris were very
nice and actually upgraded us after the passport mishap. The Paris pass
was well worth it.
In Florence, the hotel was great for both location and accommodations. (I was also amused that the lead character in the Dan
Brown novel "Inferno" that I was reading stayed there in the book.)
The wine and food tour was great and Martine was an excellent guide.
Naples was a mess and the driver there was greatly appreciated, particularly when dealing with the local mafia and gang reps who were
"selling" tissues to drivers at risk of getting their cars keyed while standing in traffic.
Anicapri was fabulous. The hotel was excellent. Very modern, great pool and service.
The trains are wonderful- clean, comfortable, fast and on time. The hotel in Rome was very nice and the rooftop bar was greatly appreciated after getting a little lost in our walking travels. The Vatican tour actually ended up going 7 hours but the guide, John, was excellent -- Very knowledgeable and
informative.
All in all, a great trip.
Thanks again. All the best,
Joe and Anita M.
