I would recommend the hotel in Hakone to anyone. Wonderful view and access to the ropeway was just around the corner.
Kyoto Tokyu hotel staff were great, the hotel seemed to be having heating/cooling issues centralized on our floor. We used the JR pass and cabs to get around. We rode on the Shinkansen. We loved the green car access.
